Landscape Paintings at Bell's Tavern

I'm happy to be exhibiting my work at Bell's Tavern once again.  I am showing a mix of recent work, and some earlier pieces.

The show runs Jan 10 until early March, 2019 at:

Please note that Bell's has dinner and evening hours only:
Mon-Thurs 6pm-9:30pm, Fri & Sat 5pm-10pm, Sun 5pm-9pm

As always, I highly recommend this restaurant - the food is great, I've never been disappointed, prices are reasonable, and the walls are always displaying the work of some local artist - I am happy to be that artist this January and February.

Wanderings & Wonderings - August at Artists' Gallery in Lambertville, NJ

"Wanderings and Wonderings"
a 2-person show with Joe Kazimierczyk and Michael Schweigart
Aug 9 - Sept 2, 2018

Opening Reception: Saturday, Aug 11, 5-8 pm

This August I am teaming up with Michael Schweigart for a 2-man show of our "Wanderings & Wonderings". The show runs August 9 - September 2 at Artists' Gallery in Lambertville, NJ, with an opening reception on Saturday, August 11 from 5pm to 8pm.

"Reflecting November"
at Sourland Ecosystem Preserve, Hopewell, NJ
7x14" oil on panel

For the past few years, my inspiration for painting has come from hiking trips where I enjoy wandering the forests and mountains or northern New Jersey, and I continue that theme in this show.

"Crossed"
American Beech tree
6x8", oil on board

My work in this show focuses on 2 main locations: the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, which I never tire of exploring, and the Sourland Mountain much closer to home - literally my back yard.

Mike Schweigart's work shows more signs of civiliation, as he paints scenes along the back roads of coastal Maine, eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I think I'm more of a wanderer, Mike is more of a wonderer. Together, I think we put on a good show.

"Dunnfield Winter"
Dunnfield Creek at the Delaware Water Gap, NJ
8x10" oil on linen on board

This is the most work that I will have on display at any one time this year, so I hope you get a chance to stop by and see the show.

This July, I'm teaming up with Beatrice Bork for our 3rd show together at Artists' Gallery. Beatrice and I have very different approaches to painting but I think our work compliments each other's nicely. Bea is an award winning watercolorist and wildlife artist with a particular focus on painting birds. I continue to explore the landscape through my oil paintings. Though our journeys take us different places, we both find our inspiration in the natural world.

"Winter at Ghost Lake"
At Jenny Jump State Forest near Blairstown, NJ
11x14" oil on linen on board

In this show, the mountains and forests of northern New Jersey have been my source of inspiration. With a renewed interest in hiking, I've been busy exploring and discovering parks nearby that I never knew existed. My paintings in this show are entirely from places I've found on these hikes over the past year or so - scenes ranging from the Sourland Mountain near my home, to Stokes State Forest in north Jersey, and many points in between.

"From Wyanokie Hi Point"
In Norvin Green State Forest
12x24" oil on canvas

This is the most work that I will have on display at any one time this year, so I hope you get a chance to stop by and see the show.

"Journeys" runs July 6 through August 6, 2017 with an opening reception on Saturday, July 8, 5-8:30 pm at:

I hope you can join us!
