Winter in August

This month at Artists' Gallery, I'm showing nothing but winter snow scenes.  Hopefully this will make visitors feel a little bit cooler during August.   This group of work will be up through Sept 4, 2011.  (At Artists' Gallery, we rotate wall space and hang new work each month).

As I was hanging these, it occurred to me that many of these are very close to my home, like these three in particular:

"Winter Afternoon, Sourland Mountain"
8x10" oil on board

This is the road I live on and my house is just beyond the crest of the hill.

"Winter Drive"
24x18" oil on canvas

This is my driveway, looking out toward the road.

"Amwell Valley Winter"
18x24" oil on canvas

And this is the farm field just across the street from my house - the same field you can see in the distance of "Winter Drive".

I guess I don't travel very far on snowy winter days!

Also at Artists' Gallery: this month's featured artists are Paul Grecian and Materese Roche in a show entitled "A Sense of Place", with an opening reception this Saturday, August 6, from 5-8pm.   Visit the Artists' Gallery website for more information.
