Pine Tree Trail

My last post was way too wordy, so I'll balance things out with this one. Here's a painting I did last weekend. It's a trail on the banks of Round Valley Reservoir near Lebanon, NJ. It was a nice day to be out and I had a lot of fun doing this one:
"Pine Tree Trail"
11"x14" oil on linen panel

  1. OOOOOOO, Joe. I really like this one. I expect one of your cows is hiding around the corner, longing to hang out in the shadows. And hmm, what MIGHT be in those TREES?

    Your work is just fantastic.

  2. I like the road in this one. Its a very welcoming way to enter your painting. I still need to "look" for the colors in my scene as you do.

You'll be surprised to see the student has finally given it (oils) a try. Thanks for your encouragment and instructions.

  3. Deb - Thanks! It would have been really funny to have seen a cow here. All I saw were hikers, and one park vehicle which I had to scramble and get off of the road for. Ok, I would have scrambled to get out of the way for a cow too. ;-)

Nancy - Thanks, and congratulations on doing your first oil painting. I checked your blog and it looks pretty good!
